Database of Historical Correspondence
The continuously expanding database provides digital access to period private correspondence of prominent figures associated with heritage conservation. At the center of this network of mutual contacts is the art historian Zdeněk Wirth, whose extraordinarily active approach played a key role in the organization and popularization of Czech heritage conservation throughout the first half of the 20th century. The preserved extensive collection of his correspondence, supplemented by letters stored in other memory institutions, provides insight into the methods of communication and thinking of individual heritage protectors.
