However, Hotman also sends wishes to Johannes Grynaeus, whom Polanus only met after he had enrolled at the University of Basel in July 1583\/4. This moves the terminus post quem after 1583\/4. From the letter it also appears that Hotman, Polanus and the Baron [presumably Charles the Elder of \u017derot\u00edn] were in the same town, before Hotman had to leave. He sends his Consolatio [Consolatio e Sacris Litteris, written in 1572-3, published 1593] in return for an elegant book Polanus sent the day before. Polanus should kindly <make a copy>* of the fascicle for Stucki as soon as possible. Hotman asks Polanus to excuse him before the count of Hanau and his noble prefect.
